How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Temporary Works Coordinator (Civils) – Substation Project -  Isle of Skye, Scotland 

    We are recruiting for a Temporary Works Coordinator to support the delivery of a new build substation project in the Isle of Skye, forming part of a major UK grid infrastructure upgrade.

    This is a site-based role focused on supervising Temporary Works and coordinating civil works during construction. You will play a key role in ensuring works are delivered safely, to specification, and in line with programme requirements.

    Site-Based
    Full time contract role for a duration of approximately 3 years 
    Competitive Day Rate (CIS/PAYE/UMB)
    11 on, 3 off - day shifts 
    Accommodation ProvidedKey responsibilities: 

    Supervise day-to-day civil construction activities on site
    Oversee Temporary Works on Site 
    Monitor groundworks, foundations, reinforced concrete, drainage and ducting works
    Conduct site inspections and quality checks
    Coordinate subcontractors and interface with electrical and structural teams
    Ensure full compliance with CDM regulations and site safety standards
    Track progress and report risks or delaysWhat We’re Looking For: 
    Experience delivering civil works on infrastructure, substation or energy projects
    Strong understanding of groundworks, RC structures and substation civils (desirable)
    Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
    Experience supervising subcontractors on live construction sites
    Knowledge of CDM regulations
    TWC experience (CITB)
