How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

This is your chance to join a staff team who look after each other and who value what everybody has to say. Quorn Hall School genuinely cares about its staff and has invested heavily in creating a range of career progression opportunities for Teaching Assistants.

"The school has an ambitious vision to ensure that all pupils understand how to become successful learners. It realises this ambition through the four 'Rs' that encourage pupils to be 'respectful, responsible, resilient and reflective'." Ofsted, June 2025

We have super high aspirations for our pupils, and want you to be a part of their journey.

Due to positive developments within our staff team we have the opportunity for a Teaching Assistant to join our amazing team at Quorn Hall School. You will work with incredible pupils who have a wide range of Special Educational Needs including SEMH needs (social, emotional and mental health).

Our pupils are funny and bright. Our Teaching Assistants support pupils in all lessons including Cooking, Forest School, PE, Art, Life Skills and more!

"We believe in learners until they believe in themselves". Where previous schools have been unsuccessful in meeting the needs of learners, we are highly skilled at adapting teaching, the curriculum and provision so that pupils find the sense of belonging and achievement they have been missing.

Working as part of a highly trained and therapeutic staff team the successful candidate will be influential in having a positive impact upon the lives of children who have a range of needs, life experiences and personalities that make every day varied and interesting. Our Teaching Assistants acquire understanding in our wide range of therapeutic and evidence based strategies including sensory integration, speech and language and trauma informed practice.

Resilience is a key trait for all our staff - being able to bounce back from experiences and being creative with pupil interactions is a key part of the role at Quorn Hall School.

We would love to hear from you if you thrive on working in a demanding but immensely rewarding environment; if you are passionate about supporting the development of social, life and independence skills; and if you truly want to make a difference in the lives of our pupils.

    Experience
The appointed candidate will have a minimum of 1 years' experience working within a school or education. Candidates should have an awareness and understanding of how pupils with SEMH needs learn and the level of support they require at school.
