How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Role Overview:

    proAV are a leading global audio visual integrator, providing AV and event services across multiple client partnerships globally.

    Our immediate requirement is for an experienced Onsite Technician to be a key part of our Manchester team, representing proAV and working onsite.

    One of many openings available at proAV (who have over 500 team members globally), this position is based within our end user’s organisation who continue to invest in state-of-the-art technologies, services, and training.

    This is an exciting opportunity for an exceptional, experienced Onsite Technician to join an established operation with scope to drive and enhance the service at every opportunity.

    Experience and seniority of the position will be reflected by the remuneration and benefits package.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. To be a point of escalation through to proAV Account Manager.

    2. To ensure all associated activities that comprise the AV service are delivered seamlessly and with maximum efficiency including ad-hoc requests.

    3. Assisting users with VC meetings and requests, being point of call for all VC related assistance/queries.

    4. Escalate faults to centralised break-fix function as required and track.

    5. Carry out daily RFB (Ready for Business) checks of all AV systems and associated areas.

    6. Practical knowledge of project deployment.

    7. Management and production of reports, for example, call logs, open tickets, critical spares, repairs and recommendations.

    8. Updating/reviewing AV request log.

    9. Liaise with client IT & FM teams to agree daily tasks and activities.

    10. proAV Onsite Technician shall aim to resolve faults in real time, however if equipment needs to be removed from site for a manufacturer repair the tech will adopt a work around or implement loan equipment where available.

    11. Administration duties to assist with the contract operation including managing of mailboxes & support calendar.

    12. Managing email requests providing first line telephone support and responding to telephone/voicemail.

    Events

    1. Coordination with other departments for event management and VIP events.

    2. Coordination and consultancy around up and coming events with business users and attend pre-event meetings.

    3. Assisting with all technical requirements for event management.

    4. Coordination of additional resources and equipment to accommodate events.

    Technical

    1. Provide technical support to VC/AV users.

    2. Locate faults and provide first fix resolutions.

    3. To ensure any changes are implemented seamlessly as per the agreed requirement and with minimal impact on the business.

    4. Coordination of subcontracted works.

    5. To assist with implementation of critical spares.

    6. Manage consumables/stock holding of onsite spares.

    7. To undertake manufacturer training courses as appropriate to ensure knowledge base is maintained.

    8. Supervise meetings as required.

    9. Assist with setting up of events, presentations and conferences.

    Service and Process Development

    1. To ensure all break-fix activities are carried out under the contracted terms and within the agreed SLA’s.

    2. Administration necessary to support engineering role.

    3. Pro-actively train and support end users and prepare relevant documentation.
