How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    The role
    The main purpose of this role is to be responsible for the input of data and the integrity and accuracy of the databases created from that data. To extract and produce timely and accurate information reports and data for internal use and external returns.
    This role is part of Property where you'll help us to lead the way investing and maintaining 46,000 homes.
    This is a 12 Month Fixed Term Contract Opportunity.
    What you'll achieve
    * To accurately input all data onto Orbits’ core property systems-notably Active H
    * To ensure that the data within our asset management information systems and other relevant databases and systems is accurate and kept up to date at all times. To be responsible for checking the accuracy of the data held on these systems and provide analysis and reports
    * To ensure that data, held on all Asset Management systems, is accurate and up to date and is managed in accordance with Orbits’ data management protocols
    * To develop reports which enable managers to assess performance, benchmark against other organisations and support continuous improvement of service to our customers
    * To develop our asset management data to provide accurate reports; to monitor progress towards relevant legal and regulatory obligations and targets and provide accurate returns to the Group, Government, Tenant Services Authority and lenders as required
    What you'll bring
    Essential skills
    * Ability to analyse complex data and draw out key points
    * Excellent ability to set up spreadsheets/databases, manipulate and analyse data to produce reports to provide information to enable the planning process to be undertaken.
    * Experience of using a range of I.T. packages (including Excel, Access, Word etc.)
    * Experience of working in a customer focussed environment
    * English and mathematics GCSE (or equivalent)
    * Relevant degree, HND or equivalent or able to demonstrate extensive relevant experience.
