How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    SEN Teaching Assistant

    Edgewood Academy, Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent
    Full-Time | Term Time Only
    £90 – £100 per day
    Start Date: September 2026

    Edgewood Academy in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to provide support for pupils with additional needs. This is a full-time, term-time role within a specialist, therapeutic learning environment focused on supporting children with SEND, including SEMH, autism, and communication difficulties.

    The successful Teaching Assistant will work closely with teaching staff and the SENDCo to deliver tailored support that promotes engagement, emotional regulation, and academic progress.

    Key Responsibilities:

    * Provide 1:1 support for pupils with Special Educational Needs

    * Support the class teacher with differentiated learning activities

    * Adapt tasks to meet individual pupil needs

    * Promote inclusion, engagement, and positive behaviour

    * Support emotional wellbeing and behavioural development

    * Monitor and record pupil progress

    * Assist in maintaining a safe, structured learning environment

    * Work collaboratively with staff and the SENDCo

    Requirements:

    * Experience as a Teaching Assistant or supporting children with SEN

    * Understanding of SEND/SEMH/autism needs is desirable

    * Patient, resilient, and supportive approach

    * Strong teamwork and communication skills

    * Willingness to use or develop digital learning tools
