We are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic Pastoral Support Officer to join a supportive secondary school environment.
The successful candidate will manage the day-to-day running of the school’s Internal Exclusion Room, providing learners with a safe and structured environment to continue learning, reflect on behaviour, and successfully reintegrate into mainstream lessons.
✅ What We’re Looking For:
Experience working with children or young people within an educational setting
Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
Experience using restorative approaches
Ability to support vulnerable learners and pupils with ALN
Excellent communication and organisational skills
A calm, professional, and supportive approach
Commitment to safeguarding and inclusion practices
Enhanced DBS check required for this role
Main Responsibilities:
Supervising and supporting learners within the Internal Exclusion Room
Delivering targeted learning tasks and restorative conversations
Supporting learner reintegration back into mainstream lessons
Maintaining accurate behaviour records and reports
Liaising with senior leadership, teachers, pastoral staff, and parents/carers
Supporting pupils with additional learning and behavioural needs
Monitoring pupil progress and behaviour impact through follow-up support
Creating a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment
