How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off - rotating shifts

    * 2 Days: 7:00am – 7:00pm

    * 2 Nights: 7:00pm – 7:00am

    Breaks: 4 x 30-minute breaks per 12-hour shift

    The Opportunity

    We are currently recruiting for Bakery Operatives to join a busy and fast-paced production environment within the Morning Goods and Slicing departments at the Northwich site.

    Previous bakery production experience is desirable; however, candidates with experience within FMCG or fast-moving manufacturing environments will also be considered. Full training will be provided.

    This role involves manual handling, operating within a production environment, and working as part of a team to meet production and quality targets.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Follow daily production plans and work instructions

    * Work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

    * Ensure production deadlines and targets are achieved

    * Maintain high standards of hygiene and housekeeping (“clean as you go”)

    * Complete production paperwork accurately and report any issues or non-conformances

    * Maintain food safety, quality, and legal compliance standards

    * Adhere to all SOPs, procedures, risk assessments, and safe systems of work

    * Work safely and responsibly at all times

    * Maintain awareness of staff and machinery within the working area

    * Follow manual handling procedures correctly

    What We’re Looking For

    Essential:

    * Previous experience within an FMCG or production/manufacturing environment

    * Good communication skills, both verbal and written

    * Strong attention to detail

    * Flexible and reliable approach to work

    * Ability to follow instructions and learn new processes

    * Comfortable working within a physically demanding role

    Desirable:

    * Previous bakery or food production experience

    * Experience working within high-volume manufacturing environments
