Syntech Recruitment are working with a leading precision manufacturing and engineering business to support the hire of a Quality Metrology Technician.
This role would suit an experienced inspection or metrology professional who is confident using advanced measurement equipment and enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment supporting quality and production teams.
Quality Technician
*
Conduct precision measurements using advanced metrology equipment including PCMM systems, Faro Arms, Romer Arms, calipers, micrometers and gauges
*
Perform inspections on incoming materials, in-process components and finished products
*
Ensure products meet specified tolerances, engineering drawings and quality standards
*
Interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications to determine inspection criteria
*
Record, analyse and report measurement data, identifying trends and deviations where required
*
Collaborate with engineering and production teams to investigate and resolve quality issues
*
Support root cause investigations and recommend corrective actions
*
Maintain and calibrate metrology equipment to ensure measurement accuracy and reliability
*
Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate quality documentation
*
Support continuous improvement initiatives across inspection and quality control processes
*
Assist in the development and implementation of quality control procedures and standards
*
Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure quality compliance across production activities
Quality Technician Requirements
*
Previous machining experience is essential
*
Manufacturing industry experience is required
*
Proven experience within a Quality Metrology Technician, Quality Inspector or similar inspection role
*
Proficient in the use of metrology and inspection equipment including PCMM systems, calipers, micrometers and gauges
*
Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) principles
*
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
*
Excellent attention to detail and measurement accuracy
*
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
*
Good written and verbal communication skills
*
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
*
Associate degree or technical certification in Metrology, Quality Control, Engineering or related discipline advantageous
*
Familiarity with quality management systems such as ISO9001 and AS9100D beneficial
