How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    An established engineering and manufacturing business based in Sunderland is looking to appoint an experienced Quality Manager to support a key phase of operational improvement and cultural development across the site.

    Supplying specialist engineered products into a range of industrial sectors, the business has built a strong reputation for quality, customer service and technical capability. Due to continued growth and internal changes, they are now seeking a proactive Quality Manager who can work closely with production and operations teams to drive standards, improve accountability and strengthen quality performance across the business.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on Quality Manager who enjoys being visible within manufacturing operations and wants to play a genuine role in shaping quality culture.

    Job Description:

    As Quality Manager, you will lead a small but experienced quality team while working closely with Production, Operations and Engineering departments to improve overall quality performance across the site.

    The successful Quality Manager will take ownership of customer concerns, corrective actions, root cause investigations and continuous improvement activities, ensuring robust processes are followed and standards are maintained throughout manufacturing operations.

    The role requires a strong shop-floor presence and someone comfortable challenging processes, driving accountability and influencing operational teams positively.

    Key responsibilities include:

    * Managing customer quality concerns and 8D investigations

    * Leading corrective and preventative actions

    * Driving continuous improvement initiatives

    * Monitoring KPIs and quality performance data

    * Supporting production teams with quality improvements

    * Escalating risks and quality concerns where required

    * Supporting a proactive quality culture across the site

    * Leading and developing the quality team

    This Quality Manager role is operationally focused and would suit someone who enjoys problem solving, team collaboration and making visible improvements within manufacturing.

    Skills & Experience:

    * Previous experience as a Quality Manager within manufacturing or engineering

    * Strong customer-facing quality experience

    * Knowledge of ISO 9001 environments

    * Experience leading investigations and corrective actions

    * Strong communication and leadership skills

    * Hands-on approach to operational quality

    * Experience working closely with production teams

    * Engineering or manufacturing qualification desirable
