How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

This nationally significant infrastructure scheme forms part of a long-term UK energy investment programme supporting the resilience of the UK electricity network and includes complex tunnelling, heavy civils, concrete structures, infrastructure, and associated enabling works.

The successful candidate will support engineering delivery and quality assurance across a defined section of works, ensuring construction activities are completed safely, accurately, and in line with project specifications and programme requirements.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a technically challenging and high-profile infrastructure project offering long-term project security, career progression, and exposure to major engineering delivery.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide engineering control and setting out for construction works

    • Maintain accurate site records, quality documentation, and engineering outputs

    • Support permits, task briefings, and construction documentation processes

    • Contribute to short-term construction programmes and site planning activities

    • Support temporary works coordination and ensure compliance with approved designs and procedures

    • Work closely with subcontractors and site teams to ensure works are delivered to specification

    • Monitor health, safety, environmental, and quality compliance across site activities

    • Undertake inspections, checks, and quality assurance activities in line with ITPs

    • Assist with identifying and resolving design or construction issues

    • Support the development of junior engineers and site staff where required

    Project Scope Includes:

    • Renewable energy infrastructure

    • Major civil engineering works

    • Tunnelling and underground works

    • Structural concrete and infrastructure packages

    • Long-term engineering and construction programme

    Candidate Requirements:

    • Previous experience working as a Site Engineer within civil engineering or major infrastructure projects

    • Strong setting out and engineering control capability

    • Good understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and quality assurance processes

    • Experience supporting temporary works and construction compliance desirable

    • Good understanding of health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements on site

    • CSCS card and relevant engineering qualification expected

    • Strong communication and teamwork skills

    • Practical, accurate, and able to work within a fast-paced site environment

The project is based near Inverness, Scotland. Accommodation and travel support can be provided for candidates relocating or travelling to site.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a major infrastructure programme with long-term project security and the opportunity to work on one of the UK’s most technically complex renewable energy developments
