Document Controller – Major Renewable Infrastructure Project

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Document Controller to join a leading international engineering and infrastructure contractor delivering a major renewable energy and civil engineering project in the Scottish Highlands.

This nationally significant infrastructure scheme forms part of a long-term UK energy investment programme supporting the resilience of the UK electricity network and includes large-scale heavy civils, tunnelling, concrete structures, power infrastructure, and associated enabling works.

The successful candidate will play a key role in managing project documentation, technical submissions, and correspondence throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring documentation is controlled accurately and efficiently in line with project, quality, and assurance requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage project documentation and correspondence across the project lifecycle

• Administer EDMS/CDE platforms including document uploads, tracking, and distribution

• Control and issue project documentation to internal teams, clients, subcontractors, and supply chain partners

• Maintain document registers, transmittals, and document numbering systems

• Monitor project deliverables and time-sensitive documentation to ensure deadlines are achieved

• Carry out document quality checks and support audits of document control processes

• Maintain accurate, secure, and comprehensive project records and archives

• Support wider project administration and reporting requirements

• Assist with document control procedures and continuous improvement of project systems

• Coordinate with engineering, commercial, quality, and project delivery teams

Project Scope Includes:

• Renewable energy infrastructure

• Major civil engineering works

• Tunnelling and underground works

• Structural concrete and infrastructure packages

• Long-term infrastructure and engineering programme

Candidate Requirements:

• Previous experience working as a Document Controller within construction, infrastructure, or major engineering projects

• Strong understanding of document control procedures and project administration

• Familiarity with EDMS/CDE platforms such as Interaxo, ProjectWise, 4Projects, A-Site, or similar systems

• Understanding of ISO 19650 and document numbering standards advantageous

• Strong organisational and administrative skills with excellent attention to detail

• Proficient in Microsoft Office packages including Excel and Word

• Ability to work within a fast-paced and technically complex project environment

• Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills

The project is based near Inverness, Scotland. Accommodation and travel support can be provided for candidates relocating or travelling to site.
