Transport Planner

We have an exciting opportunity for a Transport Planner based in Bedford for one of our clients on a Full time permanent basis. 

Summary of the Transport Planner role 

Salary: Competitive
Location: Bedford
Type of Contract: Permanent  
Hours: Monday – Friday 8.30am-5.30pm and 1 in 4 Saturday mornings 

Responsibilities of the Transport Planner

Plan and coordinate transportation routes for efficient delivery of goods with excellent nationwide knowledge of road networks
Help build runs for the general drivers
Print and collate all driver’s paperwork
Ensure drivers remain compliant
Collaborate with internal teams
Monitor and track drivers to ensure on-time delivery
Maintain accurate records
Communicate with drivers, carriers and customers to address any issues or concerns  
Requirements for a successful Transport Planner

Strong communication skills customer service skills
 Strong geographical knowledge
 Strong interest in transport planning and a willingness to develop knowledge in the field
 Ability to be flexible
 Good problem-solving skills
 Full driving license with own transport is advantageous
