Working within an experienced structural engineering team, the successful candidate will contribute to the design and delivery of projects across sectors including commercial, residential, R&D, and energy, covering both new-build and refurbishment schemes.
The Role
The successful candidate will be involved in the delivery of structural engineering projects from concept through to completion, working closely with internal multi-disciplinary teams as well as external consultants, contractors and clients.
Key Responsibilities
Structural Design & Analysis
Prepare structural designs in steel, concrete, timber and masonry
Undertake analysis and calculations using industry-standard software including Tekla and TEDDS
Produce practical, efficient and technically sound engineering solutions
Project Delivery & Coordination
Work collaboratively with architects, clients, subcontractors and project stakeholders
Support project planning, coordination and reporting activities
Attend design and project meetings as required
Technical Development
Contribute to problem-solving and innovative design solutions
Maintain awareness of current standards, regulations and sustainability requirements
Progress towards professional Chartership with structured support available
Site & Compliance
Undertake site inspections and project assessments
Ensure compliance with relevant statutory and health & safety requirements
Review construction works against design intent and specifications
Requirements
Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering (BEng/MEng or equivalent)
Minimum of 2 years’ post-graduate experience within a structural engineering consultancy
Experience designing in common building materials
Working knowledge of structural analysis and design software
Understanding of geotechnics and foundation design principles
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Motivated, proactive and eager to develop professionally
Full UK Driving Licence required
