We are currently seeking an experienced Project Controls / PMO Manager to join a growing infrastructure and civil engineering organisation delivering major programmes across the UK.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a delivery-focused professional who thrives in a structured project environment and can provide robust planning, governance, reporting, and project controls support across complex engineering programmes.
Please note: this is not a Performance Manager role. We are specifically seeking a PMO / Project Controls professional with strong planning and project management capability gained within the civil engineering or wider infrastructure sector.
The Role
You will work closely with project and programme teams to ensure effective control, monitoring, and reporting of project performance across the lifecycle. You will play a key role in strengthening PMO governance, improving consistency in project delivery, and supporting successful outcomes across multiple workstreams.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and develop PMO and project controls frameworks across multiple projects
Manage and maintain project schedules, reporting, and progress tracking
Support project managers with governance, risk, issue, and change control processes
Produce high-quality reporting and dashboards for senior stakeholders
Ensure consistency in project controls standards and best practice
Facilitate project reviews, planning sessions, and governance meetings
Support forecasting, resource planning, and programme coordination
Drive continuous improvement across PMO processes and delivery performance
About You
Proven experience in a PMO, Project Controls, or Project Management role
Background in civil engineering, infrastructure, utilities, rail, highways, or construction
Strong planning and scheduling experience
Confident stakeholder management and communication skills
Experience working on complex, multi-disciplinary engineering programmes
Strong understanding of governance, reporting, risk, and change control
Proficient in project planning/reporting tools
Highly organised with strong analytical capability
