How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    We are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Technician to join a busy and well-established commercial vehicle workshop in the Totton area on a permanent night shift pattern.

    Working within a modern, fully equipped workshop, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality servicing, diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs, ensuring vehicles are returned to service safely and efficiently during night operations.

    🔧 The Role

    * Service, maintain, and repair HGVs and commercial vehicles

    * Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults

    * Carry out inspections, servicing, and preventative maintenance

    * Complete MOT preparation and safety inspections

    * Use diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve faults

    * Ensure all work meets DVSA and manufacturer standards

    * Complete job cards and workshop documentation accurately

    * Maintain high health & safety and workshop cleanliness standards

    * Support overall workshop efficiency during night shift operations

    🧠 Candidate Requirements

    * NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair

    * Proven experience as an HGV Technician / LGV Technician / Truck Mechanic

    * Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills

    * Solid understanding of HGV maintenance and repair procedures

    * Reliable, motivated, and able to work independently

    * Strong team ethic and professional attitude
