How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Asset Replacement & Strategy Engineer

    Crawley | Permanent | £68,144 + 3% bonus | Hybrid working after probation

Help shape the future of electricity distribution with a business that powers over 8 million homes and businesses across London, the South East and the East of England. This is a high-impact opportunity for an experienced engineer to influence long-term asset strategy, support regulatory delivery and drive innovation across a critical network.

Working within the Asset Strategy team, you will develop and improve inspection, maintenance, replacement and refurbishment strategies for key distribution assets. You will analyse asset health, criticality and risk data, shape investment plans, prepare business cases, support regulatory submissions and work closely with Network Operations, Capital Delivery and suppliers to improve network resilience, performance and efficiency.

If you have an HNC or HND in Electrical Engineering, strong knowledge of electrical distribution assets and experience turning complex data into practical engineering decisions, this role offers real career progression and technical variety. You will join a respected team known for innovation, regulatory leadership and developing engineering talent. In return, you will benefit from hybrid working, 25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays, a strong pension contribution, healthcare and wellbeing support, retail discounts and further training opportunities if you are still building the full skill set for the role.

If you are ready to influence asset strategy, improve network performance and help deliver the next generation of engineering excellence, apply now. This is an excellent opportunity to step into a visible role where your expertise will shape future investment decisions and support a resilient, innovative energy network. Closing date: 10th of June 2026.
