How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Lecturer in Textile Design [Ref: NBK1459]

    Pro rata of £27785 - £43325 per annum (i.e. £13,892.50 - £21,662.50)

    18.5 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

    We are seeking a dynamic and visionary lecturer to lead the continued evolution of our BA (Hons) Textiles for Art, Fashion & Interiors programme. This is an exciting opportunity for an innovative practitioner and educator to shape the future of Textiles education.  

    As Course Lead, you will be responsible for the strategic direction, development, and delivery of our HE Textiles programme. You will ensure that our curriculum remains dynamic, industry-engaged, and aligned with contemporary textile practices and critical discourse, inspiring students and staff to experiment, collaborate, and redefine the boundaries of textiles across art, fashion, and interiors.

    We are looking for an experienced and ambitious individual with: 

    A strong background in Textile practice, education, and research. 

    A proven track record of innovation in Higher Education curriculum design and delivery. 

    Extensive experience in professional practice within the arts sector, with knowledge of contemporary creative industries. 

    Experience in leading and inspiring teams within an academic or creative environment. 

    A keen professional interest in contemporary and future-facing art and design practices including new and emerging technologies, materials, and critical perspectives 

    The ability to forge strong links with external partners, artists, designers and cultural organisations. 

    A commitment to student success, employability, and professional development. 

    Significant experience in Higher Education teaching, course development, and academic leadership.
