How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Quantity Surveyor - Construction

    Location: East Riding Of Yorkshire
    Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

    Company Overview

    We are working with a growing and well-established construction business delivering high-quality projects across multiple sectors throughout the UK. With a strong pipeline of work and a collaborative commercial team, they are looking to appoint an experienced Pre Con Quantity Surveyor to support the successful commercial delivery of projects.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated QS looking to develop their career within a supportive and fast-paced environment.

    The Role

    Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will provide full surveying support across multiple live projects, managing subcontractor accounts, client applications, project reporting and commercial performance throughout the project lifecycle.

    You will work closely with Project Managers and Site Managers to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and commercially successfully.

    Key Responsibilities

    Prepare and issue Applications for Payment to clients
    Attend monthly commercial and project review meetings
    Manage subcontractor accounts, valuations and final accounts
    Raise subcontract orders and issue variations
    Update and maintain commercial reporting documentation
    Monitor project costs and commercial performance
    Support project teams with financial and contractual matters
    Prepare re-measure reports and other commercial reports as required
    Attend site visits regularly to monitor progress and subcontractor performance
    Recover project retentions and settle final accounts promptly

    Experience & Qualifications

    Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying
    3-5 years' experience within a Quantity Surveying role
    Good understanding of commercial processes within construction
    Strong communication and organisational skills
    Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
    Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word
