How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    PRU Teacher - SEMH Provision

    📍 Chesterfield | Full-Time | Supply Basis | Immediate Start

    are recruiting on behalf of a respected trust of specialist schools in Chesterfield for an experienced PRU Teacher to work on a supply basis across alternative provision settings.

    This role involves working with students with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs within a Pupil Referral Unit environment, delivering engaging and differentiated lessons while providing consistent behavioural and emotional support.

    The successful candidate will be confident managing challenging behaviour, building positive relationships with students and creating a safe, structured and supportive learning environment that promotes both academic and personal development.

    The successful candidate will:

    Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
    Have previous experience working within a PRU or alternative provision setting
    Have experience supporting students with SEMH needs
    Be confident with behaviour management and de-escalation strategies
    Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons across a range of abilities
    Demonstrate resilience, adaptability and strong communication skills
    Be passionate about supporting vulnerable young peopleThe schools within the trust take a highly nurturing and relational approach, with a strong focus on inclusion, emotional wellbeing and preparing students for future education, employment and independent life.
