How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Job Title: CNC Operator

    Location: Byfleet, Surrey
    Job Type: Full-Time
    Salary: Up to £15.00 per hour

    Shift - Day shift

    Job Summary:
    We are currently seeking a CNC Miller Operator to join our clients engineering team based in Byfleet. This role is ideal for someone with basic CNC milling experience who is looking to further develop their machining skills within a busy manufacturing environment.

    Key Responsibilities:
    - Operate CNC milling machines safely and efficiently
    - Load and unload materials and components
    - Read and work from engineering drawings
    - Carry out basic machine set-ups and tool changes
    - Inspect finished parts using measuring equipment including verniers and micrometers
    - Ensure all components meet required quality standards and tolerances
    - Maintain a clean and organised work area
    - Report any machine or production issues to management
    - Complete production paperwork accurately

    Requirements:
    - Previous experience operating CNC milling machines
    - Ability to read engineering drawings
    - Basic understanding of machining processes and tolerances
    - Experience using measuring equipment
    - Good attention to detail and quality standards
    - Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team

    Desirable:
    - Experience with Fanuc or Haas controls
    - Engineering or machining qualification
    - Previous experience within a precision engineering environment
