The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity for an experienced payroll professional to join a growing payroll team within an established accountancy practice environment.

This role offers the chance to manage your own portfolio of client payrolls while working closely with a collaborative team and building strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

* Process end-to-end weekly and monthly payrolls for a portfolio of clients

* Maintain accurate payroll records and employee data

* Liaise directly with clients, HMRC, and pension providers regarding payroll queries

* Complete RTI submissions and Auto Enrolment administration

* Prepare year-end payroll routines and statutory returns

* Process Direct BACS payroll payments

* Support CIS tax deducted returns and related submissions

* Ensure payroll deadlines and compliance requirements are consistently met

* Provide support to colleagues across the wider business on payroll matters

The Ideal Candidate

* Minimum 3 years’ payroll experience

* Previous experience within payroll bureau or accountancy practice desirable

* Strong understanding of UK payroll legislation and statutory requirements

* Experience processing multiple payrolls independently

* Confident with manual payroll calculations, RTI, and Auto Enrolment

* Strong organisational and communication skills

* Comfortable managing multiple deadlines within a fast-paced environment

* Experience with Sage, Xero Payroll, Earnie, or IRIS Payroll Professional advantageous
