TeacherActive is proud to be working with a fantastic SEND school in Sale, who are looking to appoint a SEND Teaching Assistant. This welcoming school is known for its lovely facilities and nurturing environment, including an on-site farm which provides pupils with unique therapeutic and outdoor learning experiences to support their development and wellbeing.
The school is looking to take on a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant on a long-term basis, with the potential to go permanent for the right SEND Teaching Assistant. The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will be supporting pupils across Key Stage 2 / KS2 through to Key Stage 4 / KS4, working closely with students diagnosed with Autism / ASD and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties / PMLD, helping to support both educational and personal development.
The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will have:
• Experience supporting children and young people with Autism / ASD and PMLD
• Previous experience working within a SEND school or educational setting
• Strong communication and behaviour management skills
• A calm, patient and nurturing approach
• The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
• Flexibility and adaptability within the classroom
