QC Microbiology Technician - Swindon
Opportunity:
This is a brand new position that has been created due to expansion. My client is a global pharmaceutical manufacturing company are looking to recruit an experienced Microbiologist where you will be carrying out high volume microbiology testing on finished drug products.
Duties and responsibilities include:
* Conducting QC Microbiology testing on finished drug products.
* Supporting the QC Scientist’s on microbiology testing.
* Maintaining the microbiology laboratory.
* Maintaining stock levels and preparation of logbooks.
* Maintenance of lab equipment to include but not exclusively: Switching on VLF Class II cabinet Boiling water / bead baths, Media preparation (pH testing of media, autoclave waste & sterilisation of equipment).
* Maintenance of weekly stock culture isolates.
* Washing Micro Glassware and use of glass washer.
* Conducting In-process sampling testing when required.
* Collective Environmental monitoring samples as required.
* Conducting Growth Promotion testing of incoming goods.
The hours of work 37.5 hours per week / Monday to Friday 9.00 am to 5.30 pm.
This is a 12 months contract based in Swindon which will be reviewed for a possible extension or go permanent however this is all dependent on the candidate and business performance. The PAYE rate is £13.58 per hour.
Skills:
To apply for the role of QC Microbiology Technician you will have the following:
* Need to be clean shaven for this role.
* No make up allowed in the clean rooms.
* Microbiologist qualification or similar.
* Ideally Microbiology experience within the pharmaceutical industry or another highly regulated environment.
* Good IT skills – Word, Excel and Outlook.
