How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Trainee Recruitment Consultant – Southampton

    We are now looking for a Trainee Recruitment Consultant to join our Southampton team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to start or build a career within recruitment, sales, or business development. You’ll receive hands-on training and ongoing support while learning how to manage the full recruitment process. The role will involve speaking with clients and candidates daily, building relationships, sourcing talent, and supporting businesses with their hiring needs. You’ll work closely with experienced consultants in a fast-paced, team-focused environment.

    Requirements

    Previous experience in a customer-facing, sales, retail, hospitality, account management, or business development role would be beneficial
    Confident communicator with strong relationship-building skills
    Motivated, ambitious, and eager to learn
    Positive attitude with a proactive approach to work
    Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks
    Comfortable working in a fast-paced environmentResponsibilities

    Build relationships with new and existing clients across the region
    Learn how to win new business opportunities and grow your market
    Support the full recruitment process from vacancy qualification through to placement
    Source and engage candidates through advertising, networking, and headhunting
    Match candidates to suitable opportunities and coordinate interviews
    Provide excellent service and tailored recruitment support to clients and candidates
    Work collaboratively with the wider team to achieve targets and celebrate success
    Develop knowledge of your market and build a strong professional network
