S Guest Consultancy Services are currently recruiting for an experienced Estimator on behalf of a well-established and rapidly growing Principal Contractor operating across the Industrial, Commercial and Education sectors.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly regarded business delivering a diverse range of refurbishment and fit out projects across the Midlands and wider UK market.
The Role
The successful candidate will play a key role within the pre-construction team, taking responsibility for the preparation of accurate and competitive tenders for refurbishment schemes ranging from small works through to larger multi-package projects.
You will work closely with internal delivery teams, subcontractors and clients to ensure commercially viable and compliant submissions are produced to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare detailed and competitive cost estimates for refurbishment and construction projects
* Review drawings, specifications and tender documentation
* Produce accurate take-offs and pricing schedules
* Obtain and assess supplier and subcontractor quotations
* Carry out site visits and surveys where required
* Identify value engineering opportunities and potential project risks
* Assist in the preparation and submission of tender returns
* Attend tender review meetings internally and externally
* Support operational teams during project handover stages
* Monitor tender amendments and update pricing accordingly
Requirements
* Previous experience working as an Estimator within the construction industry
* Strong refurbishment experience across commercial, industrial or education projects
* Good understanding of construction methods, materials and building regulations
* Strong commercial awareness and analytical skills
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
* Proficient with estimating software and Microsoft Excel
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills
* Ability to manage multiple tenders and work to deadlines
* HNC/HND or Degree qualified within a construction related discipline would be advantageous
