How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a leading housing developer delivering high-quality residential schemes across Greater Manchester. This Quantity Surveyor position is ideal for someone with a strong housing background who is looking to progress their career within a supportive and forward-thinking commercial team.

    As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of multiple residential developments, ensuring projects are commercially managed from pre-construction through to final account. The business has built a strong reputation within the housing sector for delivering quality homes and creating long-term career opportunities for its employees.

    The successful Quantity Surveyor will work closely with operational teams, subcontractors, and senior management to maintain financial control, maximise profitability, and support project delivery across a range of housing developments. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor looking to join a stable and growing business with an excellent pipeline of work.

    Responsibilities:

    • Managing costs across multiple housing developments

    • Procurement and management of subcontractor packages

    • Producing valuations, variations, and final accounts

    • Cost reporting and forecasting throughout the project lifecycle

    • Working closely with site teams to monitor project performance

    • Ensuring projects are delivered within budget and commercial targets are achieved

    • Supporting senior commercial staff with strategic project decisions

    • Maintaining strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers

    The ideal Quantity Surveyor will have previous experience working within the residential or housing sector and will understand the pace and structure of volume housebuilding projects. Strong communication skills, commercial awareness, and the ability to manage multiple schemes are essential for this Quantity Surveyor position.
