How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Commercial Manager

    📍 Manchester / Full-Time / Permanent / Hybrid (3 days in office - Non Negotiable)

    💰 Package circa £90,000 + £7,000 Car Allowance + Benefits

    Laboris Solutions are pleased to be working a client based on very firm foundations that are looking for an ambitious and commercially driven Commercial Manager to join their growing team and play a key role in the continued expansion of the business.

    This is more than just a Commercial Manager role — it is a genuine opportunity for someone looking to progress into Director level within 1 year, working closely alongside senior leadership and helping shape the future direction of the company.

    The Opportunity

    You will oversee multiple projects and commercial activities across the business, leading from the front with strong contractual knowledge, client management skills, and commercial awareness.

    The successful candidate will have the ability to manage projects or divisions effectively while building strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Lead commercial management across multiple projects

    * Oversee scope management and change control processes

    * Negotiate and manage JCT & NEC contracts

    * Build and maintain strong client relationships

    * Support business growth and strategic decision-making

    * Lead, mentor, and develop commercial teams

    * Ensure projects are commercially successful and delivered efficiently

    * Work closely with Directors on business performance and future growth plans

    About You

    We are looking for someone who is:

    * Experienced within a Senior Commercial role in Construction

    * Commercially astute with strong negotiation skills

    * Confident managing clients and multiple stakeholders

    * Organised, detail-oriented, and highly motivated

    * Able to lead teams and delegate effectively

    * Comfortable working in a fast-paced construction environment

    Preferred Experience

    * Quantity Surveying background

    * JCT & NEC contract experience

    * Main contractor or subcontractor experience

    * Engineering or technical construction background advantageous

    * RICS accredited (desirable)
