How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Building a sustainable tomorrow

BAM Site Solutions are looking for a Survey & Technology Service Engineer to join our team. This role is vital for ensuring our fleet of precision survey and communication equipment is maintained to the highest standards of accuracy, reliability, and safety.

Based in our Wellingborough depot with travel where required.

    Making Possible

The Survey & Technology Service Engineer will be responsible for the maintenance, diagnostic testing, and calibration of survey and communications assets within a workshop environment.

You will support the team to provide exceptional service to our clients, ensuring assets are ready for immediate deployment to projects. A key focus for this role will be supporting the implementation and maintenance of a Leica accredited workshop facility. We are looking for a confident self-starter with a desire to keep up to date with the latest technology.

    * Technical Maintenance: Carry out the service, cleaning, calibration, and programming of both survey instrumentation and two-way radio equipment.

    * Accreditation Support: Actively support the implementation and ongoing compliance of a Leica accredited workshop, ensuring all processes meet manufacturer standards.

    * Fault Finding: Perform comprehensive fault-finding on survey and technology assets to ensure all equipment is in full working order.

    * Software Updates: Carry out essential software and firmware updates to assets to ensure the fleet remains current and functional.

    * Safety & Compliance: Perform PAT testing on all electrical equipment and administer Ofcom licensing to ensure regulatory compliance.

    * Calibration & Certification: Ensure all survey instruments are calibrated to manufacturer specifications and issue relevant certificates.

    * Inventory Management: Use company software to record servicing and maintain accurate asset availability.

Site Operations: Attend customer sites to perform professional installations of survey and communications technology, involving travel where required.

Quality Control: Ensure customer orders are processed in a timely manner, doing it right first time to meet customer expectations.

Health & Safety: Place the Health & Safety of everyone involved in the business as your top priority.

What do you bring to the role?

Technical Experience: Prior experience in a Service Engineer role or a similar technical environment involving the repair and maintenance of high-end technology.

Diagnostic & Software Skills: A proven ability to perform comprehensive fault-finding on technology assets and a high level of comfort performing software and firmware updates.

Communications Knowledge: Experience with radio technology, antenna systems, and programming software—such as Motorola or Hytera (Desirable).

Technical Accuracy: An exceptional eye for detail with a "right first time" approach to calibration, ensuring all assets meet manufacturer specifications and accreditation standards.

IT Literacy: A high level of IT literacy, specifically with Microsoft Office 365 and the ability to learn internal asset management software.

Workload Management: A focused individual who can multi-task and prioritize a busy workload in a fast-paced environment.

Professionalism: A highly professional, positive attitude with the communication skills needed to provide clear technical support to clients.

Safety & Documentation: Ability to assist with technical report writing and risk assessments (Desirable).

Requirements: A full UK driving licence is essential for site visits and travel where required.
