How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    CNC Turner Programmer
    Location: Wednesbury
    Pay: up to £18 per hour
    Working Hours
    _ Monday to Thursday: 7:00am - 4:00pm
    _ Friday: 7:00am - 11:00am

    Overview
    Our client is a well-established precision engineering business specialising in CNC machining, turning, and milling for a range of industries. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an experienced CNC Turner Programmer to join their skilled production team.
    This is a great opportunity for a motivated individual seeking long-term stability and the chance to work on technically challenging, high-precision components.

    Role Summary
    You will be responsible for programming, setting, and operating CNC turning machines, ensuring efficient production and maintaining high-quality standards across all work.

    Key Responsibilities
    _ Program, set, and operate CNC lathes
    _ Work with Mazak (Mazatrol)
    _ Carry out machine changeovers and tooling setups
    _ Edit and optimise programmes both online and offline
    _ Interpret engineering drawings and specifications
    _ Manufacture components to tight tolerances
    _ Select suitable tooling and work holding solutions
    _ Support continuous improvement within the machining process
    _ Work both independently and as part of a team
    _ Assist or lead others where required

    Skills & Experience
    _ Proven experience as a CNC Turner Programmer
    _ Strong CNC programming, setting, and operating background
    _ Mazatrol and Fanuc experience (essential)
    _ Experience with Citizen and Miyano machines
    _ Offline programming capability
    _ Solid understanding of tooling and machining techniques
    _ Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
    _ Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
    _ Previous supervisory or leadership experience (advantageous)
    _ Good communication skills
