How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

ANZUK Education is working with a highly supportive and inclusive primary school in Southwark seeking an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join their specialist provision from September. This full-time position offers the opportunity to support primary-aged pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), helping them access learning, communication and personal development opportunities within a nurturing and specialist environment.

The school is known for its outstanding commitment to inclusive education and its well-resourced SEND provision, creating an environment where support staff play a vital role in helping pupils achieve meaningful progress both academically and personally.

This SEND Teaching Assistant role in Southwark would suit experienced Teaching Assistants, Learning Support Assistants or Care Support Workers with a strong background supporting children with complex needs and PMLD.

Key Responsibilities of SEND Teaching Assistant:

Provide high-quality support to primary-aged pupils with PMLD on a 1:1 and small group basis.

Support pupils with communication, sensory learning and personal care needs where required.

Assist the class teacher in delivering highly personalised learning activities.

Implement strategies outlined in EHCPs and individual support plans.

Promote pupils' independence, engagement and emotional wellbeing.

Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and other professionals to support pupil outcomes.

    The Ideal Candidate Will:

Have proven experience supporting children or young people with PMLD and complex learning needs (essential).

Have experience working within a specialist SEND provision, SEND school or similar setting.

Demonstrate a strong understanding of sensory learning, communication strategies and personalised support approaches.

Be comfortable supporting pupils with personal care requirements where necessary.

Be patient, compassionate and resilient in their approach.

Maintain high expectations for pupil engagement, wellbeing and development.

Show a clear commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

    What The School Offers:

A highly supportive and experienced SEND team.

A well-resourced specialist provision with excellent facilities.

Opportunities for specialist SEND training and professional development.

A collaborative environment working alongside therapists and specialist staff.

A welcoming and inclusive school community.

Applications are being reviewed on a rolling basis, so we encourage early submission to avoid missing out. Apply now to be considered.

If you bring relevant experience and a commitment to supporting children with complex needs, we encourage you to apply — even if you don’t meet every listed requirement.
