How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Childrens Residential Support Worker – Middleton Cheney, Nr Banbury, OX17

    Employer: Homes2Inspire (part of Shaw Trust Group)

    Contract: Full-time, Permanent, 40 hours per week

    Location: Middleton Cheney, Near Banbury – OX17

    Salary: £27,976 - £28,650 per annum (£13.45 - £13.77 per hour) + sleep-in allowance (£46.01 per sleep) + £1400 attendance bonus

    About the Home:

    Salmons House is a 3 bedded EBD children’s residential home in Middleton Cheney, Banbury, Oxfordshire, supporting children and young people up to the age of 18. It provides a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment by offering emotional and practical support to help children develop life skills and build confidence.

    Currently, the home supports 3 young people from the ages of 13 to 16 who enjoy taking part in a range of activities from arts and crafts, caring for animals, day trips to theme parks, and spending time with their families and friends.

    Drivers with a full UK driving license are essential

    The Role:

    As a Residential Support Worker, you will:

    * Safeguard and promote the wellbeing of young people in our care.

    * Support with daily routines, household tasks, and meal preparation.

    * Encourage participation in community activities and hobbies.

    * Transport young people to school, medical appointments, and activities.

    * Act as a positive role model, setting clear boundaries and building trust.

    * Help young people develop life skills, including managing finances.

    * Maintain accurate records and paperwork.

    * Be able to work shifts - including evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and sleep-ins (1–2 per week).
