Bodyshop Mechanic

BODYSHOP MECHANIC
Basic Salary: £35,000 + Bonus (£45,000 OTE)
Location: Chesterfield
Hours: Monday - Friday 08:00am - 4:30pm (3:30pm finish on Friday)
We are looking for an experienced Bodyshop Mechanic with strong mechanical, diagnostic and electrical capability - someone confident carrying out steering, suspension, engine and safety system repairs following collision damage.
This is not a cosmetic strip & fit role - we require a technician capable of handling heavier mechanical rebuilds within a bodyshop environment.
Responsibilities of a Bodyshop Mechanic
- Carry out mechanical repairs following collision damage, including suspension, steering racks, subframes and engines
- Complete diagnostics, electrical fault-finding, ADAS calibration and wheel alignment/steering geometry
- Replace SRS components (airbags), de-/re-energise HV vehicles and carry out wiring repairs
- Perform air conditioning degas/regas and refill/bleed cooling systems
- Remove and refit interior trims while working to manufacturer repair standards
Skills and Qualifications Required
- Strong mechanical and diagnostic capability
- Confident with suspension, steering, engines, ADAS and safety systems
- Bodyshop or accident repair experience preferred
- Full UK Driving Licence and own tools required
- Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)
