How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Mechanical Project Engineer - Central London

    £65,000 - £90,000 + Travel Allowance (DOE)

    A leading £100m turnover M&E Contractor is seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Engineer to join their growing delivery team in Central London.

    Operating across the residential and commercial sectors, this established contractor specialises in delivering high-profile M&E projects valued up to £30m and has built a strong reputation for technical delivery, quality, and long-term client relationships.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically biased engineer looking to work on prestigious London-based developments while progressing within a financially stable and well-respected business.

    The Role

    Reporting into the Project Manager / Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for supporting and managing mechanical packages from pre-construction through to practical completion.

    Projects will include a mix of large-scale residential developments and commercial schemes across Central London.

    Key responsibilities will include:

    Managing mechanical packages from design stage through to PC
    Reviewing and coordinating technical drawings and specifications
    Liaising with consultants, subcontractors, and client teams
    Attending design, progress, and coordination meetings
    Monitoring programme, quality, and installation progress on site
    Assisting with procurement and subcontractor management
    Supporting commissioning, snagging, and handover processes
    Ensuring health & safety and quality standards are maintained throughout delivery

    Requirements

    Minimum HNC qualification in Mechanical Engineering
    Proven experience delivering M&E projects from design stage through to completion
    Previous experience within the residential and/or commercial sectors
    Strong understanding of mechanical building services installations
    Experience working for an M&E Contractor is highly desirable
    Excellent communication and coordination skills
    Ability to manage multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment
