How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Electrical Design Engineer, Hampshire
    An established Mechanical & Electrical Building Services Design Practice based in Hampshire are seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join their team on a permanent contract.
    They are a successful M&E Consultancy with an enviable portfolio of clients across, working on a broad range of projects including mix used developments, bespoke residential, commercial new builds and public sector schemes.
    As a result of continued success they are looking to strengthen their team by hiring an Electrical Design Engineer or Senior Electrical Design Engineer to support and lead on projects from initial client contact and design brief to final account.
    The successful applicant will be assisting on projects from start to finish, engaging with all project stakeholders both internal and external, carrying detailed designs and undertaking design review meetings to ensure project success as per schedule and to specification.
    As an Electrical Design Engineer you will ideally be educated to degree level within a Building Services discipline and member of CIBSE, however my client is just as keen to meet prospective candidates who's experience outweighs qualification. The key elements to this position are excellent communication and project management skills, coupled with the technical design capabilities.
