How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Engineering Geologist – Coastal Projects

    📍 Exeter / South West
    💰 Competitive Salary + Benefits + Progression

    Ever fancied working on the coast, exploring interesting geology, and getting stuck into varied ground investigation projects rather than the same repetitive sites?

    A growing specialist ground investigation contractor is looking for an experienced Engineering Geologist to join their South West team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with 2+ years’ experience who is confident in rock logging and wants to work on diverse and geologically interesting projects across coastal and inland sites.

    The Role

    * Carrying out and supervising ground investigation works

    * Detailed soil and rock logging (essential)

    * Working on coastal, infrastructure, and development sites

    * Supporting drilling teams and site operations

    * Sampling, field testing, and recording ground conditions

    * Producing accurate factual site records

    * Ensuring safe and efficient delivery of works on site

    What We’re Looking For

    * Minimum 2+ years’ experience in engineering geology / ground investigation

    * Strong and confident rock logging experience is essential

    * Background in site-based contractor work preferred

    * Interest in varied geology and field-based work

    * Full UK driving licence

    * Hands-on, practical, and reliable approach

    What’s on Offer

    * Competitive salary depending on experience

    * Exposure to interesting coastal and varied geological environments

    * Strong pipeline of diverse projects

    * Training and career development opportunities

    * Supportive and experienced team

    * Long-term job stability with progression potential
