How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Senior Engineering Geologist
    📍 Aberdeen
    💰 Up to £45,000 + Benefits + Career Progression
    An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Engineering Geologist to join a growing and well-respected ground engineering consultancy based in Aberdeen. This role is ideal for an experienced Engineering Geologist looking to take the next step in their career, working on a diverse range of infrastructure, commercial, and development projects across the UK.
    You will play a key role in managing site investigations, mentoring junior staff, and delivering technically challenging geotechnical and geo-environmental projects within a dynamic and supportive team.
    The Role
    * Managing and supervising ground investigations
    * Overseeing site works, logging, and sampling activities
    * Preparing factual and interpretative geotechnical reports
    * Supporting geo-environmental and contaminated land assessments
    * Managing project programmes, budgets, and technical delivery
    * Mentoring junior engineers and graduates
    * Liaising with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies
    Requirements
    * Degree in Geology, Engineering Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, or related discipline
    * Previous experience within ground investigation or geotechnical consultancy
    * Strong technical reporting and project management skills
    * Experience supervising site investigations
    * Full UK driving licence
    * Motivated and proactive approach to project delivery
