How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    • Support product knowledge copy where needed
    • Work closely with Product teams to build a strong understanding of product features, fabrics, fit and key selling points
    • Ensure product and website copy is kept up to date across launches and ongoing trade activity

    CRM & Newsletter

    • Support copy for CRM flows, targeted email campaigns, and newsletters

    General Copywriting Support

    • Support day-to-day copy needs across the business, including social and marketing
    • Work closely with the in-house Copywriter to help manage priorities and maintain consistency across outputs
    • Manage multiple briefs and deadlines across business-as-usual and seasonal activity

    Key Success Measures

    • Accuracy and consistency across all copy outputs
    • Strong and consistent use of Varley’s tone of voice
    • Reliable support across day-to-day copy needs
    • Ability to manage multiple workstreams efficiently
    • Strong collaboration across Product, E-commerce, CRM and Marketing teams

    Experience and Skills

    • Proven experience as a copywriter, ideally in fashion, retail or e-commerce
    • Strong experience across product copy, website copy, CRM and newsletter copy
    • Confident writing across multiple formats, including social and marketing support copy
    • Excellent writing and editing skills with strong attention to detail
    • Strong understanding of tone of voice and copy consistency across channels
    • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work at pace
    • Comfortable working cross-functionally with a range of teams
    • Interest in fashion is a plus
