How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Risk Lawyer (6‑Month FTC – September Start) | International Law Firm | London (EC2N) | £80k (pro-rata) with hybrid working


    We are instructed by an international law firm to recruit an experienced Risk Lawyer to join its established Risk & Compliance function on a 6‑month fixed-term contract, commencing September 2026.


    This is a legal role, offering the opportunity to work closely with senior stakeholders across the firm’s global operations, including risk leadership, compliance professionals and the firm’s General Counsel function.


    The Role

    The successful candidate will provide hands-on legal and regulatory support across a broad range of professional risk and compliance matters. The role will suit a pragmatic, confident lawyer who is comfortable advising on ethics, regulatory obligations and best practice within an international law firm environment.


    Key Responsibilities

    • Advising on professional standards, ethics, confidentiality and regulatory obligations
    • Supporting senior risk stakeholders and the COLP on day-to-day legal and compliance queries
    • Monitoring regulatory developments and assessing firm-wide impact
    • Drafting and updating policies, procedures and compliance frameworks
    • Preparing and amending client terms of engagement across multiple jurisdictions
    • Drafting agreements with counsel, foreign lawyers, experts and third-party suppliers
    • Maintaining registers and supporting ongoing compliance monitoring
    • Assisting with ad hoc risk and compliance projects, including training where required


    Candidate Profile

    • Qualified solicitor (England & Wales)
    • Minimum two years’ legal compliance experience within an international law firm
    • Strong working knowledge of the SRA Code of Conduct
    • Excellent drafting skills and attention to detail
    • Commercial, pragmatic and confident communicator
    • High levels of discretion and professionalism
