How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Associate – Employment | Birmingham | 1–5 PQE


    Our client, a well-regarded international law firm, is looking to add an Employment Associate to its growing Birmingham team.


    This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Employment Solicitor (1–5 PQE) to join a collaborative and growing team undertaking top-quality work for an impressive client base including FTSE-listed businesses, public sector organisations, charities, universities and major commercial clients.


    The Role

    You will advise on a broad range of contentious and non-contentious employment matters, including:


    • Employment tribunal litigation

    • Strategic advisory and HR support

    • Drafting employment contracts, policies and procedures

    • Transactional support work

    • Complex employee relations matters

    • Data subject access requests

    • Client training, seminars and business development initiatives

    The team is recognised for handling complex, high-value matters while maintaining a genuinely supportive and collegiate culture.

    The Ideal Candidate


    • Qualified Solicitor with 1–5 years’ PQE in Employment Law

    • Strong technical and drafting skills

    • Experience advising commercial and/or public sector clients

    • Commercially aware with excellent communication skills

    • Interested in developing long-term client relationships and contributing to business development initiatives
