How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Springfield Domestic Abuse Support Services is dedicated to providing support and guidance to individuals impacted by domestic abuse. Our mission is to ensure safety, empowerment, and advocacy for survivors, while promoting community awareness and prevention efforts. We work collaboratively with local partners to create comprehensive support networks. Our services are designed to offer both immediate assistance and long-term solutions to help individuals rebuild their lives.


    Role Description

    This is an on-site part-time position located in Kendal for a Community DASA Worker (IDVA). The role involves providing direct support to individuals affected by domestic abuse, delivering case management, and connecting clients with resources and services within the community. Daily responsibilities include conducting risk assessments, creating safety plans, and maintaining client confidentiality while ensuring effective communication with all stakeholders. The position also requires coordinating awareness and outreach efforts to foster a supportive and informed community environment.


    Qualifications

    • Strong Interpersonal Skills, including empathy, active listening, and relationship-building
    • Experience in Community Support and Community Health initiatives to assist individuals in accessing relevant resources
    • Proficient Communication skills, both verbal and written, for engaging with clients and partners effectively
    • Background in Case Management, including planning, coordinating, and monitoring individualized support
    • Knowledge of safety and risk assessment protocols is highly desirable
    • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups and within multidisciplinary teams
    • IDVA qualification, Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field is an advantage
    • Experience working in domestic abuse support or advocacy is a plus
