How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Legal Secretary (6-Month FTC) | Leading Law Firm | West End, London

We’re partnering with a highly respected law firm with a strong reputation for excellence across its Litigation practice groups. They are currently seeking an organised, enthusiastic, and energetic Legal Secretary to join the team on an initial 6-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave, starting June 2026.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a collaborative and high-performing firm, supporting a mix of Partners and Associates. If you're a proactive and skilled Legal Secretary who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys supporting multiple stakeholders, this role is perfectly suited to you!

    Why this role stands out:

    • Hybrid working model - 4 days in the office, 1 day from home (after a short integration period)
    • Beautiful West End location
    • Varied workload supporting Partners, Associates & internal teams
    • Supportive, friendly, and professional environment
    • Chance to develop your skills within an established, reputable firm

    Your impact:

As a Legal Secretary, you’ll play a vital role in keeping workflows smooth and efficient across busy Litigation teams. You’ll manage complex schedules, assist with high-quality document production, coordinate travel, and support billing processes - all while ensuring seamless communication and organisation.

    Key responsibilities include:

    • Preparing, formatting, and reviewing legal documentation and correspondence
    • Managing diaries, travel arrangements, and meeting logistics
    • Supporting timekeeping, billing, and expense processes
    • Handling document management via iManage
    • Providing ad hoc administrative support to the Legal Intern Programme and Clients & Markets Team
    • Adapting to shifting deadlines while maintaining accuracy and professionalism

    What we’re looking for:

    • Experience as a Legal Secretary within a legal or professional services environment
    • Excellent communication, organisational, and technical skills
    • Strong proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, iManage, and billing/time recording systems
    • Calm, composed, and adaptable under pressure
    • A proactive team player with strong attention to detail
    • Flexibility to work overtime when required (which may be extensive at times)
    • Outstanding time management and a reliable attendance record
    • A positive attitude and a great sense of humour

This is a brilliant opportunity for someone looking to join a reputable firm, work closely with senior legal professionals, and contribute meaningfully to a supportive and collaborative team.
