How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

A top-tier law firm with a leading international trade & sanctions practice is seeking to hire a Trade & Sanctions Associate (2–5 PQE) as part of continued strategic growth within its high-performing London regulatory team.

You will join a specialist platform known for:

    • Advising on complex UK, EU and global sanctions regimes, including Russia-related measures and evolving geopolitical frameworks
    • Supporting high-value, cross-border M&A, finance and real estate transactions with embedded sanctions and export controls considerations
    • Delivering cutting-edge regulatory advice across export controls, FDI, AML/CTF and anti-bribery frameworks
    • Acting for major financial institutions, multinational corporates and investment houses on business-critical compliance issues
    • Handling strategic, risk-sensitive matters with significant commercial, operational and reputational impact
    • Working within a genuinely integrated, multi-jurisdictional team across the UK, US, EU and APAC

This is a market-leading practice operating at the forefront of a rapidly evolving regulatory landscape, where technical excellence and commercial judgement are essential.

    The Role

You will advise on a broad range of sophisticated trade and sanctions matters, including:

    • UK and EU sanctions compliance and advisory work
    • Sanctions and export controls support across M&A and financing transactions
    • Regulatory due diligence and risk assessments
    • Drafting and reviewing contractual protections and compliance frameworks
    • Advising on operational and strategic compliance programmes
    • Coordinating cross-border advice with international offices and specialist teams

You will work closely with partners and senior lawyers on high-profile matters, while benefiting from strong mentorship, early responsibility and direct client exposure.

    About You

The team is seeking high-calibre candidates who:

    • Are UK-qualified with 2–5 PQE
    • Have trained at a City, US or leading international firm
    • Have strong experience in sanctions work and transactional support (M&A essential)
    • Exposure to export controls, FDI or broader regulatory frameworks is advantageous
    • Demonstrate strong technical ability alongside commercial awareness and pragmatism
    • Are detail-oriented, proactive and thrive in a fast-paced, intellectually rigorous environment

    Why This Role?

This is an opportunity to join an elite international practice offering:

    • Direct access to market-leading partners, including senior leadership within the global trade & sanctions group
    • Exposure to some of the most complex and high-profile cross-border matters in the market
    • A unique mix of pure advisory and transactional sanctions work
    • Excellent training, development and long-term career progression
    • A collaborative, high-performance and internationally integrated culture
