How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Title: Sales Administrator

    Reporting to: Team Leader

    Location: London SE1.

Package: £45,000 to £55,000 plus benefits

Our client is a thin prime contractor through government procurement frameworks, working across the UK public sector. They subcontract delivery to their partners. Their work spans IT goods and services, software solutions, digital transformation, and business consultancy.

    The role

We are looking for a Sales Administrator to join our tendering team as a third person in a role that offers full exposure to the bid lifecycle, owning and managing EOIs, RFIs, and ITTs from receipt through to submission and follow-up, acting as the control point between customer and partner.

The role involves reading and interpreting tender documentation, meeting and coordinating with external partners, answering questions, managing the submission to the deadline, and submitting the bid on the relevant procurement portal. This role offers a high level of responsibility and is suited to someone who is good with engaging a wide range of people and enjoys structured work and detailed processes, including working under pressure to tight deadlines.

Communication will be a combination of email, video calls, telephone and procurement portals. Our systems of CRM (Zoho), Slack (messaging) and Microsoft365 are the other main tools. You will also be responsible, as part of the team, for answering the telephone generally for the company and passing to the right part of the company if not for you. There may also be some reporting requirements from CRM, e.g. Monthly returns during holiday cover for other team members.

What makes you different? Your top attributes:

    1. Be a real communicator, with that sort of personality. Excellent written and video/phone skills.

    2. Ability to read and interpret tender documentation accurately, IT knowledge and language is essential.

    3. Be highly structured, organised and focused – processing many incoming urgent tasks

    4. Have a manic attention to detail and a love of getting data 100% right every time

    5. Have the consistent energy and work ethic to blend (multi-task) many 5- to 10-minute tasks daily with different people

    6. The right sort of person to represent our company to a very wide range of public sector customers and to private sector partners – you’ll often be the main face of the company in fact – telephone, video and email

    7. Teamwork – with an innate ability to work happily under supervision, and to know what to escalate and when to ask for help; as well as an ability to work effectively on your own as a self-starter

    8. Ability to work calmly, efficiently and effectively under occasional extreme time pressure

    9. A love of sales and winning

The right person will be able to articulate their ability to:

    • Represent the company on the telephone, in video calls and in writing

    • Process a whole load of simultaneous, short incoming tasks (5 to 10 minutes) with a huge attention to detail

    • Get everything right the first time every time without fail

    • Own the bids throughout the process to submission

    • Record everything carefully in a CRM and messaging system

    • Build and maintain solid relationships with key members of our Partners’ bid teams

    • Care about sales and be a winner

    • Work as part of the Tendering team, under supervision and direction as needed

    • But be driven and self-sufficient to work on your own within the office

    • Sustain motivation and have an excellent work ethic

    • Be a straightforward, honest and sincere sort of person, as befits working with the UK public sector

    Nice to haves:

    • Public Sector experience an advantage

    • IT and/or professional business consulting experience an advantage – or at least a genuine interest

    • Articulate and polished with a professional approach to partners/clients

    • Eager to learn and develop

    What we offer:

    • Competitive salary, depending on experience

    • Hybrid working, which is currently 3 days per week in our SE1 office

    • 24 days annual leave plus public holidays

    • Pension contribution

    • Private healthcare

    Our culture

We are a focused and collaborative team with a strong emphasis on accountability and delivery. We value clear communication, attention to detail, and a proactive approach. Individuals are trusted to take ownership of their work while contributing to the wider team.
