How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    About the Role

    Reporting into the Financial Controller, our client is looking for an ambitious and self-starter, working independently and as part of a team. The Finance Assistant will support the finance function in managing day-to-day financial operations and administration across multiple events. This role is ideal for a finance graduate looking to develop their skills in a fast-paced, event-driven environment. The role involves processing financial transactions, liaising with customers, and maintaining accurate financial records. This position reports directly to the Finance Manager and involves business partnering.


    Responsibilities


    • Assist with processing customer and supplier invoices, ensuring correct coding against the budget and department
    • Responsible for keeping accurate records of paid registration
    • Assist with reviewing staff and event-related expense claims
    • Bank Reconciliation
    • Chasing aged debtors
    • Business partnering with the wider team including Sales and Operations to resolve queries.



    Qualifications

    • Finance graduate (desirable) or 1/2 years work experience within a similar role


    Required Skills

    • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office package, particularly Excel & Word
    • Knowledge of Xero accounting software is desirable
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
    • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
    • Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple event projects simultaneously
    • Proactive, self-motivated, and committed to continuous improvement
    • Ability to work independently both at home and 2 days per week at our Tunbridge Wells office


    Pay range and compensation package

    £28,000-£30,000
