How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Derby Grammar School is looking to appoint a well qualified and passionate Maths Teacher. Starting in September 2026 you will join our excellent teaching team. This is a permanent position teaching Maths to pupils in Key stage 3, 4 and 5.


    Derby Grammar School is co-educational independent school that has provided excellent schooling to pupils from Derby and across the County. Our school setting dates back to the 18th century and is surrounded by extensive grounds.


    Established in 1995, Derby Grammar School is a leading independent school for children aged between 4 and 18. Located in the Derbyshire suburbs of Littleover our secluded grounds provide the perfect setting for a first-class educational experience.


    At Derby Grammar School we strive to ‘bring education to life’ and inspire a passion for learning that remains with our pupils throughout their lives. The enthusiasm of our teachers sparks excitement and interest for curious minds. We create an environment where our pupils’ strengths are sought out and celebrated. Our small size enables us to do this; we know and treat each child as an individual.


    The Maths department offer the Edexcel specifications for both GCSE and A Level Maths and Further Maths. Our high attainers also study the Level 2 Further Mathematics course at GCSE.


    We are looking to appoint a Maths Teacher who is able to teach Maths to pupils in KS3, 4 and 5. We would like to hear from experienced Maths teacher who can promote a love of learning and stimulate intellectual curiosity amongst pupils at Derby Grammar School through inspirational teaching and guidance, ensuring each pupil is supported to achieve his or her potential.


    The ability to teach A Level Maths is essential, as at Derby Grammar School Maths is a popular A level choice. Teaching of further Mathematics at A Level is welcome but not essential.
