How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Role : Product Designer

    Duration : 6 months

    Location : London

    Overall purpose of the role

We are looking for a Product Designer to join our Customer Care team for a 6-month contract, stepping in to cover a maternity leave secondment. You will be working within the Barclays Financial Assistance (BFA) team, playing a crucial role in helping customers who are in financial trouble recover into a positive financial status. You will focus on 2-3 key projects, including a tactical delivery to uplift the current customer journey to the new Barclays look and feel, as well as designing income and expenditure forms to better understand customer details.

    Key Skills

Design Experience: A solid product designer (beyond a purely junior level) with a strong portfolio.

App Design Focus: Strong understanding of app design and mobile interfaces, as opposed to exclusively desktop design.

Technical Proficiency: Highly skilled in Figma, with the ability to confidently use and adapt blueprint design libraries.

User Research: Experience with remote and 1:1 user research, ideally using Maze or similar research software.

Soft Skills: Excellent stakeholder management, strong organizational and time management skills, and great attention to detail.

Background: Financial services or banking experience is not required, but previous experience in a larger organization is highly preferred to help you easily adapt to the scale of the business.

    Key Responsibilities

Execute design uplifts to align with the new brand look and feel.

Create workflows, build prototypes in Figma, and manage the end-to-end user experience.

Liaise closely with stakeholders to present and articulate your design decisions clearly.

Work independently on your core projects while sitting alongside a wider team of Service and Product Designers

    Onsite

Please discuss the working pattern requirements for the role you are applying for with the hiring manager. Please note that as we continue to embed our hybrid working environment, we remain in a test and learn phase, which means that working arrangements may be subject to change on reasonable notice to ensure we meet the needs of our business.
