Our Grantham based client is looking for a passionate professional to head up their small Transport division. If you are wanting to take a step away from the stress of a large fleet but still have ownership, focusing on the customer requirements and operational performance we want to hear from you.
As the Transport Manager, you will take full ownership of a small fleet of Class 1 and 2 vehicles with a fleet of Vans and have passed your CPC.
Duties include:
* All vehicles comply with current UK and International Transport regulations in respect of servicing, inspections, tachograph maintenance, Daily Defect Reporting System, Vehicle System checks and that all relevant records are maintained and stored for inspection.
* Plan all journeys of deliveries to customers, airports or meeting points, ensuring that sufficient vehicles and drivers are available and appropriate routes are taken.
* Investigate all accidents to vehicle and load and keep current with transport H&S regulations.
* Ensure that the Company Quality Management System (ISO) operating procedures are adhered to within their area of responsibility.
Knowledge and skills for Transport Manager:
* Knowledge of UK and International transport regulations.
* Hold a current CPC licence.
* Knowledge of Road Transport Directive (Working Time).
* Transport management and planning experience.
Located in Grantham this role will involve 1day per week travelling to their northern sister site and could possibly for the right person offer 1 day work from home option.
This role of Transport Manager would suit someone who is wanting to take a step away from the stress of a large fleet but still have ownership of autonomously running a small fleet.
Hours are Monday to Friday, 8 hours shift per day, and flexi working times between 5am – 4pm.
