How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    PPA Cover Teacher

    Location: Wigan

    Salary: £150 - £210 per day (dependent on experience)

    Start Date: September 2026 / Ongoing

    About the Role

    Tradewind Recruitment is seeking an adaptable, enthusiastic, and reliable Primary School Teacher to join a welcoming one-form entry primary school in Wigan. This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher looking for regular work with a brilliant work-life balance, taking on a crucial PPA (Planning, Preparation, and Assessment) cover role.

    As a PPA Teacher, you will deliver pre-planned lessons across various year groups from EYFS up to Key Stage 2. This role allows you to focus purely on what you love most-teaching and engaging with pupils-without the added pressure of full-class planning, parents' evenings, or data tracking.

    Key Responsibilities

    Deliver high-quality, pre-planned lessons across a range of year groups (EYFS, KS1, and KS2).

    Maintain a positive, structured, and engaging learning environment.

    Adapt teaching methods dynamically to suit the needs of different age groups and abilities.

    Follow the school's behaviour and marking policies consistently.

    Foster strong, positive relationships with the existing close-knit school team.

    What We Are Looking For

    Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

    Strong classroom management skills with the ability to build quick rapport with students.

    A flexible "can-do" attitude, comfortable stepping into different classrooms and age groups.

    An understanding of the primary national curriculum.

    An enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
