Blue Arrow are currently recruiting for Waste Operatives to join a busy and essential waste and recycling team based in the SG1 area. These are ongoing temporary opportunities with strong potential to become permanent for the right candidates.
The Role
As a Waste Operative, you will play a key role in delivering a front line service, collecting waste and recycling from residential and commercial properties. This is a hands-on, physically active role working outdoors as part of a dedicated team.
Key Responsibilities
Collecting household and commercial waste and recycling materials safely and efficiently
Returning bins and containers to their correct locations after collection
Removing bulky waste items from residential properties when required
Clearing spillages and ensuring streets and public areas remain clean and tidy
Supporting safe disposal of waste at designated sites
Operating tools and equipment in line with health & safety guidelines
Working closely with drivers and other team members to complete daily routes
Delivering a high standard of customer service to the public
What We're Looking For
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
Good awareness of health & safety practices
Strong communication and customer service skills
Physically fit and able to carry out demanding, manual work
Reliable and flexible approach to work
Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
Basic literacy and numeracy skillsDesirable:
Previous experience within waste, recycling, or a similar environment
Knowledge of waste collection practices or equipment
