How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Asbestos Surveyor – P402 Qualified

    Location: Hybrid – On Site & Home Based

    Job Type: Full Time


    engstaff-In Recruiting is recruiting on behalf of its client for an experienced and motivated Asbestos Surveyor to join a growing team specialising in social housing refurbishment and demolition surveys across kitchens, bathrooms, and void properties.


    This role is ideal for a professional who is customer-focused, organised, and confident working independently within occupied residential environments. The current project is based across the Birmingham suburbs.


    Key Responsibilities

    • Carry out Refurbishment & Demolition (R&D) asbestos surveys in accordance with HSG264 guidance.
    • Conduct surveys within:
    • Kitchens
    • Bathrooms
    • Void flats/properties
    • Occupied residential dwellings
    • Manage and accurately record survey data using online reporting software.
    • Prepare reports and maintain accurate documentation using Microsoft Word and Excel.
    • Take, manage, and dispatch asbestos samples to UKAS accredited laboratories.
    • Interpret asbestos analysis results and complete survey reporting accordingly.
    • Deliver excellent customer service while working in residents’ homes.
    • Maintain strong client relationships and represent the business professionally at all times.
    • Complete approximately 15 surveys per week.
    • Participate in an on-call emergency rota for asbestos releases and related incidents.


    Requirements

    • BOHS P402 qualification (essential).
    • Proven experience carrying out refurbishment and demolition asbestos surveys.
    • Good understanding of HSG264 guidance and asbestos legislation.
    • Experience working within social housing environments is highly beneficial.
    • Competent in using:
    • Online survey/reporting software
    • Microsoft Word
    • Microsoft Excel
    • Strong communication and customer service skills.
    • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
    • Full UK driving licence.
    • Ability to attend the East Grinstead head office one day per month.
